Abstract
This paper reports 3 cases of fecalith-induced small bowel obstruction in Chonnam University Hospital.
The egg sized abdominal mass was palpated at the upper abdomen in one of these three cases.
In radiologic upper gastrointestinal study before operation, fist sized movable foreign body mass was confirmed in the stomach, but which was found in the upper jejunum at the operation.
It was supposed that the stomach bezoar was passed down to the jejunum through the pyloric ring during general anesthesia.
The fecaliths were composed of relatively hard materials which contained two or three persimmon seeds in their center and enclosed by vegetable debris.
